Job Overview

We are seeking a Backend Engineer with deep expertise in serverless architecture, cloud infrastructure, and API development. You will be crucial in designing and maintaining secure, scalable backend services to power our modern FinTech platform. This role demands a strong understanding of TypeScript, AWS serverless technologies, and cloud development best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• API Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable RESTful APIs.

• Serverless Architecture: Develop serverless applications using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.

• AI-Enhanced Development: Utilize AI tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and other productivity-enhancing technologies to accelerate coding, debugging, and testing.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use AWS CDK and CloudFormation to define and manage cloud infrastructure in TypeScript.

• Security: Implement and enforce security best practices, including OAuth 2.0, AWS Cognito, KMS encryption, and API security configurations.

• Testing & Quality: Write unit and integration tests using Jest. Ensure code quality through comprehensive testing strategies and mocking AWS SDKs.

• Performance Optimization: Use caching solutions like Redis and implement patterns like rate limiting (P-Queue) and circuit breaker (opossum).

• Documentation: Create detailed API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger 3.0 and Redocly. Maintain technical documentation in Markdown.

• Monitoring & Logging: Implement structured logging with Winston, monitor APIs with CloudWatch Logs, and track errors with Sentry.

• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, DevSecOps, and product teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI tools, and advocate for their adoption to enhance development e\iciency and product quality.

 

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

 

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on Node.js, TypeScript, and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience using Cursor AI and tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-driven platforms to improve software development processes.
• Proven experience building applications on AWS serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and related services.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure management using AWS CDK or similar tools.
• Familiarity with designing and maintaining microservices and event-driven architectures.

Skills:

• Expertise in RESTful API design, development, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of security principles, including OAuth flows, KMS encryption, CORS, and webhook signature verification
• Experience with NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB (data modeling, GSIs, encryption at rest).
• Proficiency with Express.js, Zod for schema validation, and HTTP client libraries like Axios.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Git workflows.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks like Jest for unit and integration testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills, focusing on clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with AI model integration and familiarity with MLOps.
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and AWS ECS.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Engineer) or related fields.
• Experience optimizing performance in serverless applications and API integrations.
